Integrated Implementation and Test of Ethernet MAC on SOC

This paper introduces the method of integrating a MAC on SOC, which first introduce the MAC architecture and components then gives the SOC architecture and components. Testing and verification steps of the MAC by the MAC driver is given. The test results show that the system supports two transmission rate of 10Mbps and 100Mbps, two working modes of half duplex and full duplex, and successfully connected with the Ethernet physical (PHY) chip through a media independent interface (MII).
