An Improved Algorithm of Variance Shadow Maps Based on GPU

  • 摘要: 提出了一种改进方差阴影映射的方法.该方法在传统的方差阴影映射中引入透视阴影的概念,在后透视空间中生成深度纹理,以牺牲对远处景物的采样率为代价,获得较高的对近处景物的采样率,减少了因采样率不足而导致的像素与纹元之间的误匹配.实验结果表明,该方法减小了光溢出现象的发生,提高了方差阴影的生成质量.

     

    Abstract: A new method to improve variance shadow maps is proposed. In this method, the concept of perspective shadow maps is introduced into the traditional variance shadow maps. By rendering the depth texture in the post-perspective space, high resolution is provided for near objects while low resolution is provided for far objects. The miss-match between pixels and texels caused by the lack of sampling is reduced. Experiments demonstrate that our algorithm reduce the light bleeding and improve the quality of shadows.
