一种新的掌纹轮廓特征点提取算法

A New Algorithm to Extract Contour Feature Points of Palmprint

  • 摘要: 提出了一种对掌纹轮廓特征点进行提取的方法,该方法首先沿着掌纹边缘线做多个彼此相切的外切圆,然后通过判断外切圆与掌纹边缘线交点个数来定位角点的大致位置,最后结合轮廓线近似直线的性质,得到掌纹轮廓特征点的准确位置.在定位角点位置的基础上,为每一幅掌纹图像获得一个ROI(感兴趣区域),并通过计算每个区域的特征向量值对数据库中掌纹图像进行匹配.实验结果表明,该算法具有较高的效率和匹配精度.

     

    Abstract: A method to extract contour feature points of palmprint is proposed. Firstly, a lot of excircles were made along the edge of palmprint, then the approximate corner positions of palmprint can be located by calculating the intersection number of palmprint edges and the excircles, and lastly the accurate corner positions can be achieved by combining the approximate line character of contour. On the basis of corner positions, a consistent ROI (Region of Interest) can be extracted for each palmprint, and feature vectors can be calculated for each ROI to match all the palmprint images in the database. The experimental results show that the method here is more effective and higher in matching precision than traditional methods.
