基于FPGA的实时图像改进直方图均衡化算法

Algorithm of Improved Histogram Equalization for Real-Time Image Based on FPGA

  • 摘要: 根据视频图像相邻两场直方图的高度相似性特点,提出了改进直方图均衡化算法.改进算法经过MAT-LAB仿真验证,并在FPGA视频图像处理平台上硬件实现.实验证明:改进算法实现图像增强的同时简化了系统结构和逻辑设计复杂度,节约30%的硬件成本,满足视频图像处理的实时性要求.

     

    Abstract: According to the characteristics of the highly comparability of histogram by contiguous field of video image, an improved histogram equalization algorithm for video image processing system is proposed. This paper validates the improved histogram by using MATLAB emulation and implement it based on FPGA video image processing system. The experiment indicats that the improved algorithm realize iamge enhancement, predigests the structure of system and complexity of logistic design, saves thirty percents hardware cost and meets currently standard video image for the real-time requirement.
