基于字符密度的车牌识别方法研究

License Plate Recognition Method Based on Character Density

  • 摘要: 针对车牌识别系统的开发,提出一种基于二值图像的字符识别算法.在该算法中,采用了新的特征向量,字符的水平密度和垂直密度,分类器采用基于误差反响传播的人工神经网络算法(BP神经网络).采用这种方法可提高系统的字符识别率和系统的实时性,实验表明此算法非常有效.

     

    Abstract: Aiming at license plate recognition development, a new character recognition algorithm is introduced based on binary image.In the method, we adopt new features including character horizontal traverse density and character vertical traverse density, classifier uses error back-propagation algorithm of artificial neural network (BP neural network) .This method can increase the correct license plate character recognition rate and real-time performance, experimental results show the new method is efficient.
