Transmission Rate Control Mechanism for Mobile Video in Cloud Computing Environment

  • 摘要: 提出云计算环境下的移动视频传输速率控制机制, 利用云强大的计算和存储能力, 扩展手机性能.首先通过隐马尔科夫链预测无线带宽, 利用屏幕分辨率和码率的关系, 自适应地调节视频传输速率.在此基础上, 设计缓存管理算法, 进一步提高用户视频访问命中率.仿真实验表明, 该机制可以显著提高用户体验和网络带宽的利用率.

     

    Abstract: This paper presents a transmission rate control mechanism in cloud computing environment for mobile video.The combination of mobile and cloud computing, which has a powerful computing and storage capacity, improves the performance of the mobile device.First, the proposed mechanism algorithm can forecast bandwidth by using hidden markov chain.Then using the relationship between hardware and bit rate, the mechanism adjusts bit rate adaptively.On this basis, we design a buffer management algorithm to improve accessing hit rate.Our simulation results demonstrate that the proposed mechanism achieves significant improvement in terms of QoE and network resource utilization.
